dependent visa - working

  I have uk work permit valid for 2 years. I am planning to bring my wife as a dependant so that she can work here in UK.
  I might to have to go back in between to my home country India during these 2 years for a short while. Can my wife continue working in UK when i am back in India(my work permit still being valid?) or will she have to return back with me
