Proof of funds

• My husband will be attending Queens in Belfast. (We are American.)We are trying to figure out how much money he needs to show for "proof of funds".
  For him, myself, and 3 children for 1 year.
  
  He has student loans, a scholarship, and a job where he can work from anywhere because it's all done online. Can he claim all these?
  
  I just can not find any information about how much we need?
