knuckle in the left jaw

I am 35 yrs old , I have been having a small knuckle sound in the left jaw. and at times when i sleep on the left side. my jaw gets stuck. then I take a minute to get back to my normal position. its v scary and v annoing feeling. I have this problem just from 2 weeks .
whom should I consult. I have no dental problem.
